Hmm, is the regulator 2 independant channel? Since you have both Yellow and Red from the Malossi stator going into the regulator.
I thought the regulator only could handle 1 input?
You are correct, Previous owner messed with my wiring harness earlier. The stator colors are still intact, so those colors are matching the Diagram.
Yes, the Malossi regulator.
If I’m not mistaken, yellow and blue are positive (+) and brown is ground (-) and also the single cable that normally grounds to the engine block is ground/negative.
I’m trying to figure out what each cable is for, I have theese 3 + the black that grounds to the engine.
I need to wire them up to the Malossi power ignition.
I also wonder if anyone know where I can buy the male contact or atleast its Scientific name, so I can keep the cable stem original and not cut the wires.
I have checked…[Lees meer]
Tank is almost cleaned, used degreaser first and flushed it.
After that Citric Acid in the tank for 36h followed by a good flush. At first it was Semi-good flow, after a couple of litres the flow increased and the tank swallowed almost full capacity of the hose.
No I have put a dishwasher tablet to neutralize the remainings of the Acid, will…[Lees meer]
An Update after some elaboration.. I replaced the gasket and float bowl and in the meantime changed the JET to 92. After reassemble, turning on the fuel-cock filles the whole fuel line and the float bowl. As a matter of fact, it filles so mch that it even came out fuel from the venting holes on top of carb.
It started on the 2nd pull with choke…[Lees meer]
I have found 1 leak between carburator float bowl and carburator housing.
Spraying alot of carb-cleaner at this spot kills the engine.
I noticed earlier when assembling the engine, that 1 of the bowl screws were to long, so it interferred with the air mixture screw and destroyed the threads of the mixture screw, so I have shortened that one and…[Lees meer]
Yes, I have had air leaks a thought aswell.
My best guess is between crank-case/reed/manifold, that the reed doesn’t seal good enough.
Either because I tighten the screws wrongly or some malfunction in the reed rubber.
Or the crank-shaft seal, that one is brand new however and inspected before installing it.
No obvious signs of leaks by just…[Lees meer]
Finally received my exhaust and rebuilt the engine with he Malossi ignition!
It takes some time for it to rev down to smooth idle (if you listen closely you will notice that in the video), thinking it’s running a bit lean on the Main JET? 88 is fitted from factory, thinking of going up to 92.
I agree with Chaos, the knowlage, info and pictures in this forum is highly valued.
Whatsapp is nice in it’s own way ,but it’s more short-term while the forum is useble even years later. 🙂
Haha, thats true.
Yes, the power ignition goes back on soon.
MDM builds the exhaust on order, so I told him I want one for the DEPS 2019, hopefully it works with the 27mm DEPS flange. I’ve seen some youtubers with same setup so he can’t be that unfamiliar with the DEPS 😀
Alright a small update!
My local junkshop didn’t have the strobe in stock today so I went home empty handed.
I realized I have a pullstart for my other Ciao somwhere, so I went up on the attic and looked for it and installed it.
The results were the same, nothing happened, tried 2 spark plugs and checked the spark, looked good.
I decided to open…[Lees meer]
@zeven I think a video of me running at all would be funny enough 😉
@Martino, thanks, will read it tonight!
@Herr Flick, you are correct, I was thinking if something went wrong in the factory and the key was positioned wrongly. But most likely they use a jig to get the position right every time, so it’s a long shot but Malossi have made poor…[Lees meer]
Tried original ignition today, still not starting while “bicycling” on both stand and for real.
The Malossi nut is 24mm, so I need to get a drill adapter for 3/4″.
I was thinking if anyone ever had problem with the position of crankshaft-key beeing offset, hence spark is coming in the worng time?
Tomorrow I go and buy adapter for drill and…[Lees meer]
I have runned with it, bicycled it, down a slope.. nothing…
The stator was installed just like the picture, there is no other way to install it. Asymetrical fittings.
I have taken the engine down and will try original ignition, see if it works.
If it do, I’ll go with Pinasco flywheel instead.
Not tried running, just pedals on the stand.. Give about ½ turn, like a kick.
I will try running, but not today because my back hurts.
The vario isn’t slipping AFAIK, but I will my eyes open on that one aswell!
@Herr Flick The “piston” with the needle goes pretty much down to the bottom, not sitting on top in the carb housing when mounted.
When I turn the handle and release it I can feel that the piston moves and releases.
Well, I’m not sure because I don’t have any pictures or good memory.. However, I’m pretty confident that I monted the stator so the cable have easy access to the outlet, which would be according to the manual 🙂
Yeah, good pint. guess I’ll nedd to buy one of thoose!
