2 mei 2012 om 13:27 #281803Definately a racer! Hopefully you get enough power out of the motor, since our vespa motors moslty do not match the other brands.
2 mei 2012 om 14:01 #281811Thats what i call a racer! Nice looks
7 mei 2012 om 04:15 #281322Some updates:
I had the wish to start the engine with a drill machine, at least in the workshop.
It worked well but I found that the large nut went loos as the engine started. In my garage I had an engine from a grass trimmer with the pull start and I had a closer look to it and found some usefull parts, at this picture tey are readu to use:
This is the big part put on the vario:
As you see the flaps will go one direction and when the engine starts up they will go out.
Next thing was the cooling scoop.
To keep down the weight and to cut things off I wanted to take away the cooling fins off the flywheel.
When I decided to buy the PVL ignition this was easy but I was thinking a little about the cooling.
As I will race only shotr races I don´t think it will be a problem but to make shure I fabbed up a scoop to send oncoming air to the cylinder.
I also drilled some holes in the head to enable airflow in cross direction.
We´ll see how my theories work…8)
7 mei 2012 om 21:13 #281769heey, nice project
you are the third one with a 46mm pinasco and hpi ignition , thats really great !!
i drive with it now , but i really whas amazed about the bigged of the sprocked i need to drive:o
mow i drive with reevalve and 18mm , i need to drive with sprocked 110!!, because otherwise it wont drive .
maybe you olso get this problem so , be carefull of that.
one thing , i drive with a flywheel and my temperture down the spark plug is 220 degrees, sow its really high , but the cilinder is stil great, sow bee carefull.
good luck and keep up the good work7 mei 2012 om 21:16 #278453
Spulleke!Yes very nice project,
I like the blue colour to.
But Kevin 27, he isn’t actualy driving an 46mm Pinasco black, but a 43mm Dr evo Cylinder.:P
But like i mention before very nice project and i would like to hear of you what top speed it has.
Good luck!8 mei 2012 om 03:58 #277730Thanks for the replies.
I do have a DrEvo because of the race regulations that stops me at 70 cc´s so I had to go with the 43 mm cylinder.
To be picky, I do have an PVL ignition, not an HPI but thye are quite similar I think.
8 mei 2012 om 07:49 #277640Would love to see a driving or a starting movie 😉
12 mei 2012 om 18:31 #279598Today was the race and the machine was as god as I had expected.
To be clear on that point I can say I expected nothing and nothing was what I got…:DThe geared mopeds was like hornets leving me behind…8)
On the other hand, I was the fastest automatic machine, the only one too…;)
I missed a lot of power and had no speed at all.Have a look here, you see me and the competitors, some difference in machines, aren´t there?
I will consider if I will go on or give in and sell the machine.
30 mei 2012 om 08:04 #276766Hi all of you out there,
I have sold my blue SuperBravo and will spend my time on other objects.
Due to this I will not spend much time here.I have enjoyed this forum and it have given me a lot of valuable information and knowledge as well as contacts.
Thanks to all and have a great Piaggio-life.
Best regards Ingvar
30 mei 2012 om 10:17 #281859I could’ve told you right away that you wouldn’t have much of a chance of winning races against those other bikes.
But you made something really nice out of that Bravo, shame you sold it man, maybe one day you’ll regret doing that 😛
30 mei 2012 om 10:36 #276763Thanks Klaas,
I knew I was up to something impossible, my aim was to build, not to win and I wanted to go my own way wich I did. We´ll see what happens next…
30 mei 2012 om 11:17 #276126Good luck with your other projects.
